One of the most commonly forgotten parts of an air fryer is the heating element.
Turn the appliance off, unplug it, and make sure it is completely cool. Depending on the design, you may be able to access the heating element by turning the appliance carefully according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Use a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth to remove loose crumbs and residue.
Do not spray cleaning products directly onto the heating element, and avoid soaking it with water.
If grease has accumulated heavily around the heating element, consult the appliance’s cleaning instructions before attempting to remove it.
6. Clean the Outside
The exterior of the air fryer can collect fingerprints, grease, and cooking splashes.
Wipe the outside with a damp microfiber cloth and a small amount of mild dish soap if needed. Then wipe it again with a clean damp cloth and dry it thoroughly.
Keeping the exterior clean also makes the appliance look much newer.
7. Deal With Stubborn Grease
If grease has hardened onto the removable basket or tray, soak the component in warm, soapy water before scrubbing.
Give the residue time to soften rather than trying to scrape it away aggressively.
A soft toothbrush can be useful for reaching small corners and grooves where grease and crumbs collect.
Avoid using oven cleaner, abrasive powders, steel wool, or other harsh products unless the manufacturer specifically recommends them.
