How to Clean Your Air Fryer Properly

  • by

Most removable air fryer baskets and trays can be cleaned with warm water, dish soap, and a soft sponge.

Soak stubborn food residue for several minutes before gently scrubbing it away.

Avoid using harsh abrasive pads or metal utensils unless the manufacturer’s instructions specifically allow them. Scratching a nonstick coating can damage the surface and make it easier for food to stick.

Some air fryer components are dishwasher-safe, but this varies by model. Check the manufacturer’s instructions before putting any part into the dishwasher.

4. Clean the Inside of the Air Fryer

The main air fryer unit should never be submerged in water.

Instead, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth or soft sponge to wipe the interior surfaces. Pay attention to grease and food splatters around the sides and bottom.

For stubborn residue, use a small amount of mild dish soap on a damp cloth, then wipe the area again with a clean, damp cloth.

Avoid pouring water directly into the appliance.

5. Don’t Forget the Heating Element
