Egg Rolls with Philly Cheesesteak Flavor

1. Prepare the Filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the onion and bell pepper until softened.
  3. Add the beef and cook until browned.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

2. Assemble the Egg Rolls

  1. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface.
  2. Place a slice of provolone cheese in the center.
  3. Add 2–3 tablespoons of the beef mixture.
  4. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  5. Seal the edge with beaten egg.

3. Fry

  1. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally.
  3. Cook until deep golden brown and crispy.
  4. Transfer to paper towels to drain.

4. Make the Sauce

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and garlic powder.
  2. Serve alongside the hot egg rolls.

Air Fryer Method

  • Spray the egg rolls lightly with cooking spray.
  • Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through.

Tips

  • Use thinly sliced ribeye for authentic Philly cheesesteak flavor.
  • Add mushrooms for extra richness.
  • Serve immediately while the cheese is still gooey and melted.
