- 1 medium chayote, peeled and chopped
- Juice of 1 fresh lime
- 2 cups (500 ml) cold water
- 5–6 fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional)
Step 1 – Wash the Ingredients
Wash the chayote and lime thoroughly under running water.
If using mint, rinse the leaves well.
Step 2 – Prepare the Chayote
Peel the chayote.
Cut it in half and remove the seed if desired.
Dice it into small cubes.
Step 3 – Juice the Lime
Cut the lime in half.
Squeeze out the fresh juice, removing any seeds.
Step 4 – Blend
Add to a blender:
- Chopped chayote
- Lime juice
- Cold water
- Mint leaves (optional)
Blend for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
Step 5 – Strain (Optional)
If you prefer a smoother drink, strain it through a fine mesh sieve.
For extra fibre, enjoy it without straining.
Step 6 – Serve
Pour into a chilled glass.
Add ice cubes if desired.
Serve immediately for the freshest taste.
