How to Make Aloe Vera Oil for Hair Growth and Healthier Hair

  • by
  1. Wash the aloe vera leaves thoroughly.
  2. Cut away the spiky edges.
  3. Slice the leaves into small pieces.
  4. Allow the yellow sap (latex) to drain away, as it can irritate the skin in some people.

Step 2: Heat the Oil

  1. Pour the coconut oil into a saucepan.
  2. Add the aloe vera pieces.
  3. Heat on very low heat for 20–30 minutes.
  4. Stir occasionally.

Do not boil the mixture aggressively. Gentle heating helps infuse the oil with compounds from the aloe vera.

Step 3: Strain the Oil

  1. Remove from heat.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool.
  3. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
  4. Pour the finished oil into a clean glass bottle.

Store in a cool, dark place.

Step 4: Apply to Your Hair

  1. Part your hair into sections.
  2. Apply the oil directly to the scalp.
  3. Massage gently for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Work the remaining oil through the hair lengths.

Scalp massage may help improve circulation and distribute the oil evenly.

Step 5: Let It Work

  • Leave on for at least 1 hour.
  • For deeper conditioning, leave overnight.
  • Wash out with a gentle shampoo.

Use 2–3 times per week for best results.
