This refreshing drink combines lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, ginger, and a pinch of pink Himalayan salt. While it’s often shared online as a “homemade Mounjaro” drink, it’s important to know that it is not a substitute for the prescription medication Mounjaro and has not been shown to produce the same weight-loss or blood sugar effects.
Ingredients
- 3 cups (24 oz / 710 ml) cold water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (with “the mother” if preferred)
- ¼ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the water into a large pitcher or mixing jug.
- Add the lemon juice and stir well.
- Pour in the apple cider vinegar and mix until combined.
- Add the pink Himalayan salt and stir until it dissolves completely.
- Sprinkle in the ground ginger and whisk or stir thoroughly so it is evenly distributed.
- Chill the drink in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes, or serve immediately over ice.
- Garnish with fresh lemon slices if desired and enjoy.
Serving Suggestion
- Serve cold.
- Stir before each serving, as the ginger may settle at the bottom.
- Best enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
Storage
Store any leftovers in a sealed glass container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir well before drinking.
Note: If you have kidney disease, high blood pressure requiring sodium restriction, stomach ulcers, acid reflux, or take medications such as insulin or blood sugar-lowering drugs, consult your healthcare provider before drinking this regularly.
