Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the softened butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar gradually and continue mixing until the butter becomes light, fluffy, and well combined with the sugar.
Slowly add the all-purpose flour. Mix on low speed or use a spatula until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
Scoop small portions of dough and roll them gently into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each cookie.
Using a fork, gently press down on each cookie to flatten it and create the classic ridged pattern shown in the picture.
Bake for approximately 10–14 minutes, or until the edges are just lightly golden. The cookies should remain relatively pale rather than becoming deeply browned.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. They will become firmer as they cool.
For an extra delicate texture, make sure the butter is softened naturally rather than melted. If the dough feels too soft to shape, refrigerate it for about 15–20 minutes before forming the cookies.
These buttery cookies are perfect with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or a glass of milk. They also make a lovely homemade treat for holidays, afternoon gatherings, or simply when you want something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen.
Store completely cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.
Just 3 ingredients, one bowl, and a few minutes of preparation—and you have a whole container of delicious homemade butter cookies! 🍪😍
