Cinnamon Donut Bread

  • by

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly combined.

Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 4: Combine the Batter

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing—the batter should be slightly lumpy.

Step 5: Fill the Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 6: Bake

Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool Slightly

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully transfer it to a wire rack.

Step 8: Add the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Brush the warm loaf all over with the melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then generously sprinkle or roll the loaf in the cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.

Step 9: Slice and Serve

Let the coating set for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk.

Tips

  • Add ½ cup cinnamon chips or white chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute buttermilk for regular milk.
  • Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze individual slices for up to 3 months. Simply thaw and warm before serving for a fresh-from-the-oven taste.
