How to Clean Your Air Fryer Properly

  • by

An air fryer makes cooking quick and convenient, but regular cleaning is essential if you want your food to taste fresh and your appliance to continue working properly. Grease, crumbs, and food residue can build up inside the basket, drawer, and heating area after repeated use.

The good news is that cleaning an air fryer doesn’t have to be difficult. With a few simple steps, you can keep it looking clean and smelling fresh without damaging the appliance.

1. Unplug the Air Fryer and Let It Cool

Before cleaning your air fryer, unplug it from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely.

Never attempt to clean the appliance while it is still hot. Hot surfaces can cause burns, and adding water to a hot appliance can create problems.

Once it has cooled, place it on a stable surface where you have enough room to remove the basket and drawer.

2. Remove the Basket and Drawer

Take out the removable basket, tray, or drawer.

Shake loose crumbs into the trash and remove any pieces of food that may have become stuck to the bottom or sides.

If there is a significant amount of grease, wipe away the excess with a paper towel before washing. This can help prevent grease from going down the kitchen drain.

3. Wash the Removable Parts
