Orange Leaves and Ginger for Stroke Recovery: What the Science Says

  • by

Social media often claims that boiling orange leaves with ginger can help people recover from a stroke, straighten a drooping mouth, or restore speech. While ginger and citrus leaves have been used in traditional herbal practices for generations, there is no scientific evidence that this drink can treat or reverse a stroke, facial paralysis, or speech problems.

A stroke is a medical emergency. If someone suddenly develops facial drooping, arm weakness, trouble speaking, or confusion, they should receive emergency medical care immediately. Early treatment can save brain tissue and greatly improve recovery.

Can Orange Leaves and Ginger Cure a Stroke?

The answer is no.

There is no clinical evidence that drinking orange leaf tea with ginger can:

  • Reverse a stroke.
  • Restore speech after a stroke.
  • Correct a drooping mouth.
  • Repair damaged brain tissue.

Recovery from a stroke usually requires medical treatment, rehabilitation, and time.
