Looking for an easy treat that requires almost no effort? These chocolate nut and dried fruit bars are perfect for parties, afternoon snacks, or whenever you want something sweet without making a complicated dessert. They’re chewy, crunchy, chocolatey, and incredibly easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup mixed nuts and dried fruit — almonds, walnuts, raisins, or dried cranberries
- 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare the Mixture
Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some paper hanging over the sides for easy removal.
Spread the rolled oats and mixed nuts and dried fruit evenly across the pan.
2. Melt the Chocolate
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until completely smooth.
3. Combine
Pour the melted chocolate over the oats, nuts, and dried fruit. Use a spatula to spread everything evenly and gently press the mixture down so the ingredients stick together.
4. Chill
Place the pan in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours, or until the chocolate has completely hardened.
5. Slice and Serve
Lift the chilled mixture out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or bars.
Enjoy these delicious little treats with coffee, tea, or as an easy party dessert!
Tip: For an extra-special finish, sprinkle a few whole almonds or dried cranberries over the chocolate before refrigerating.
