How to Clean a Burnt Pot with Coarse Salt & a Raw Potato

  • by

Step 1: Turn the burnt pot upside down and rinse away any loose dirt.

Step 2: Sprinkle a generous layer of coarse salt over the burnt area.

Step 3: Cut a raw potato in half.

Step 4: Use the cut side of the potato to scrub the coarse salt over the burnt stains using firm circular motions.

Step 5: If the potato becomes smooth, slice off a thin layer to expose a fresh surface, then continue scrubbing.

Step 6: Add a little more coarse salt if needed and keep scrubbing until the burnt residue loosens.

Step 7: Rinse the pot thoroughly with warm water.

Step 8: Wash the pot with dish soap and a sponge, then rinse and dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

Tip: This method works best on light to moderate burnt residue. For extremely thick, baked-on carbon, you may need to repeat the process or soak the pot first in hot water with a little dish soap.
